One of the sisters from Kangemi had some personal challenges which led to the closure of her food kiosk business due to rent arrears. ABSN assisted her with a flexible repayment plan. This has now enabled her to continue with her business as she is providing for her family all alone. We also donated some dishes and equipment for her small kiosk.

Widows and Orphans Assistance - 2023

As part of the objective in serving humanity, ABRC/ABSN has been consistent in giving full support to widows and orphans in different parts of the country. Presently, we are assisting;

Mohammed Odiambo: orphaned at a very young age, has been in our care since infancy and is now in Grade 1.

Mariam Mohamed: a twenty-year-old girl who is undertaking a Certificate Course in Tailoring at Aisha Centre of Quranic Studies and Technical Training in Mtwapa, Mombasa.

Hamza Abdi: currently a year one student at Kenya Methodist University, Nairobi pursuing Information Technology. His education is fully funded by the Al Mahdi Sponsorship Scheme.

Mwatime Ali: is a Grade Six student studying at A Ray of Hope Academy in Changamwe, Mombasa. She was orphaned at the age of 1 and is being brought up by her grandmother.

Iron Sheets For House Repair In Kwale, Kibarani - 2024

ABRC recently facilitated essential repairs to the house of one of the Sheikhs, originally built in 2011, addressing significant roof deterioration. With funds raised by Zahra Versi and Seher Asad, students of the Graduation Class of Haydari Madrasah, and a private donor, iron sheets were provided to carry out the repairs, which have now been successfully completed.

Changamwe Tailoring Shop Opening - Feb 2023

ABSN donated materials and tailoring equipment sponsored by Welfare Aid Australia. Opening Ceremony was in February 2023. Sister Zahida and Sister Nazneen went for the opening ceremony of the tailoring shop in Changamwe which has been running as a tailoring school. 10 students graduated from a full sponsorship by Lady Fatema Trust. Sister Latifa is now able to run a fully operational tailoring shop offering additional professional services.

She gave a brief introduction and welcomed the guests. The guest of honour, Chief Faraji Kibwana said how happy he was with the progress of the Changamwe women’s group and how the ladies had made great efforts in their lives by stitching and selling. He emphasized the importance of educating both girls and boys for a prosperous society. Sheikh Zainul Abedin spoke about the birth anniversary of Imam Hussein (as), Hazrat Abbas (as) and Imam Zainul Abedin (as). He also spoke about the Imam of our time Imam Mahdi (as) and how we should be praying for his re – appearance.

Brother Iddy from ABRC gave a historical account of the development of the Changamwe centre; and how Sister Latifa, Sheikh Zainulabideen and ABSN had partnered and assisted to uplift women in the community. He asked the ladies to put in more efforts in growing and developing their ventures so that others can also feel the positive impact. “We should desist from relying on handouts all the time as this only hinders our progress “. He concluded.

ABSN presented some materials, stitching accessories and equipment for the shop and all the tailoring students were given gifts and a tailoring manual. We also donated clothing to all graduates and footballs, training cones and some football t shirts to the boy’s football team.

Empowering Growth: Water Pump Donation - Jan 15th 2025

To support sustainable farming efforts, ABRC donated an electric water pump to Markaz Aisha Boys Orphanage in Malindi. This contribution is intended to enhance irrigation on the orphanage’s farm, helping to improve food production and self-sufficiency for the boys in their care.

Al Madina Sisters Tailoring Shop - Kibera - Jan 2023

January 2023 in Kibera, Nairobi; ABSN officially launched Al Madina Sisters Tailoring Shop in Kibera by inviting an experienced seamstress, Mrs. Fatma Chagpar to give them advice on how to successfully operate a tailoring business. Mrs. Chagpar encouraged and gave them amazing words of wisdom. She also donated a tailoring manual to the ladies. The assistant chief, Ms. Asia Ramadhan came to officiate the ceremony. This was our pilot group to receive business funding and their business has been operating successfully for over 4months now.
